The expansion includes a line dedicated to prototyping new profiles developed to clients specifications. Ongoing projects include new profile shapes, research into the reinforcement of different polymers from the standard polyethylene and polypropylene compounds to the more unusual polystyrene, PET/PBT, and thermoplastic elastomers. |

|
Thermoplastic Prepreg- thin sheets of thermoplastic reinforced with fibres for laying up to make complex composite structures. The company has produced a number of different prepreg materials including PP/Glass, HDPE/Glass and Carbon fibre/TPE-O. Because of the novel production method it is possible to easily incorporate additives such as UV stabilisers and masterbatches into the polymer. Ask now for a sample of PEpreg, Imhotep Ltds own glass reinforced HDPE available in different colours. |

Thermoplastic Pultrusion Imhotep Ltd are now capitalising on their core knowledge with a process line for the pultrusion of thermoplastic composites made from co-mingled fibres such as Twintex* and glass/PET making Imhotep one of the few commercial pultruders of co-mingled fibres in the whole of Europe. |
More standard profiles- Although
the products of Imhotep Ltd could never be described as standard
as they combine the aesthetics of plastic extrusion with the
performance of fibreglass pultrusions. This is achieved by using
novel technology to selectively reinforce the plastic with continuous
fibres. to make robust, glossy, brightly coloured, weatherproof
profiles. |
